Aerobic exercise is physical exercise of low to high intensity that depends primarily on the aerobic energy-generating process. "Aerobic" means "relating to, involving, or requiring free oxygen", and refers to the use of oxygen to adequately meet energy demands during exercise via aerobic metabolism.

How you perform this depends on your level. If you are just starting out, it could be a 10 minute walk. If you've been active in the past it could be a 10 mile tempo run or more.

Once you can find you resting heart rate, you can figure out your different heart rate zones and plan from there. I found out it's a lot easier to do certain activities once I shed the weight, so focusing on nutrition if you are just starting is the best idea. That might be a 75/25/25 plan instead of 33/33/33. I can't emphasize enough how important nutrition is to the entire plan. Read this article to learn more about what I'm talking about.
